osdacpi is
a small program written in C, that uses libxosd library to
display
information related to acpi (advanced control power interface),
gathered from /proc pseudo-filesystem. Its goal is to provide that information in a fast and easy way. I wrote it because i was not fully satisfied with the battery applets i was using to monitor the battery of my laptop computer. They needed huge ammounts of memory (more than 8MB) ,and also they consumed processor cycles (as the applets polled /proc every one second or so). The idea was to write something small that displayed the battery status for a moment, and then disappear. xosd was great for this. Just bind any key combinaton, or a button in your desktiop pannel, and go. Current version is: 0.3 Features:
